The Senior Project Manager for Systematic Trading will be a central coordination point for onboarding, project delivery, issue resolution, and tooling adoption across BAM's Systematic business. The Senior Project Manager will report into the Systematic Deputy COO; interfaces daily with investment, quant, technology, data, and risk teams.
Responsibilities
Onboarding
- Own end-to-end onboarding for new systematic PMs, quant researchers, and analysts across equities, macro, quant, and dedicated quant platform strategies
- Coordinate across Business Management, Data, Technology, and Risk to ensure day-one operational readiness
- Maintain and improve onboarding playbooks, documentation, and access provisioning workflows
Project Management
- Manage full project lifecycle (intake, scoping, delivery, and post-implementation review) across technology, data, infrastructure, and operational workstreams
- Maintain consolidated view of the Systematic project portfolio; track milestones, manage dependencies, escalate risks
- Partner on strategic build-out initiatives: new strategy integration, asset class expansion, ML-driven workflow development
- Coordinate on projects touching trading infrastructure, execution platforms, and multi-asset trade monitoring
Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as operational interface between Systematic investment teams and Technology, Risk, Data, and Compliance
- Run structured cross-functional meetings; drive agendas, capture decisions, enforce accountability
- Deliver concise project status updates and risk summaries to the Systematic COO and senior leadership
- Ensure risk and operational considerations are embedded in project planning from the outset
Tooling & Process
- Drive adoption and governance of Wiki, Asana, and Jira across the Systematic business
- Define standards for project intake, tracking, escalation, and closure
- Build reporting frameworks providing real-time portfolio health visibility to leadership
- Identify and implement process improvements reducing friction for PMs and researchers
Market Data & Technology
- Support onboarding of market data vendors and alternative data providers
- Coordinate cloud and on-premises infrastructure requirements across equities, macro, and quant strategies
- Translate business and research requirements into actionable technical specifications for engineering teams
Requirements
- 10 years PMO / program management in a hedge fund, systematic asset manager, or quantitative trading firm; multi-strategy platform experience preferred
- Familiarity with the systematic investment lifecycle — signal research, portfolio construction, execution, and performance monitoring
- Working knowledge of quant trading infrastructure — research environments, backtesting platforms, data pipelines, execution systems, risk frameworks
- Understanding of market data and alternative data — vendor management, licensing, feed onboarding, data quality
- Familiarity with cloud analytics infrastructure (AWS) in a research or production trading context
- Proficient in Jira, Asana, Confluence/Wiki, Salesforce
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to synthesize complex, multi-threaded situations for senior audiences
- Strong stakeholder management across matrixed investment, technology, risk, and operations functions
- Highly organized; able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams across a large and growing PM/researcher population
- Proactive, self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity
- Willing to travel internationally (3 weeks/year) and work flexibly across New York, Chicago, and international time zones
Salary : $200,000 - $250,000
