What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trading Product Analyst position at Balyasny Asset Management L.P.?
The role is in the Execution COO’s team. The team works alongside traders, quants and product managers who focus on providing trading and execution services to BAM’s Investment Teams. You will work closely with Trading management, Business COOs, Lead Product Manager and Developers who work collectively to define, implement, test and release new trading system features. You will work across asset classes such as listed equities, futures, options as well as FX products used widely by BAM’s trading teams globally.
What you’ll do
- Drive strategic initiatives across Balyasny's trading businesses to implement new or enhanced workflows, focusing on scaling the firm’s electronic trading footprint including the Central Liquidity Book
- Work collaboratively with Traders and developers to understand how trading systems interact and solve problems cross-functionally
- Effectively communicate with developers on business intentions, provide comprehensive business requirement documents, and propose solutions
- Communicate and collaborate with senior stakeholders to gauge their needs, align timelines, and set expectations
- Lead sessions with Traders, PMs, and other functions to demo existing workflow processes as well as promote and release new trading feature rollouts
- Test new trading system features in UAT, sign off on new builds, and own rollout planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Product, Technology or Consulting role in the financial services industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of technology and software development processes – experience with Asana or Jira a plus
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills and proven track record with business leads and tech teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SQL required. Experience with Python, PowerBI, Visio and MS Project highly desirable
- Understanding of equities trading life-cycle and settlement process
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
