What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate, Corporate Strategy position at Balyasny Asset Management L.P.?
This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of a leading alternative asset manager. The Associate will work with the Corporate Strategy team, senior leadership, and subject matter experts to identify, research, and execute on the Firm’s strategic priorities by:
- Contributing to the creation and supporting the execution of the firm’s strategic plan
- Performing due diligence on potential new strategies, products, and businesses
- Leading cross functional projects to build new or improve existing firm capabilities
INTERFACES WITH:
The Associate will report to the Head of Strategy and work closely with the other members of the Strategy team as well as members of the Management and Investment Committees and subject matter experts inside and outside the firm.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Structured, logical thinker with ability to get up to speed on new topics quickly and approach projects in an organized and process-oriented way
- Intellectually curious with track record of going beyond surface level analysis with fact-based research and creative, resourceful thinking
- Organized and adaptable with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently
- Demonstrated analytical rigor in quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial modeling
- Strong written and verbal communication with ability to condense research into concise views
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years of consulting, investment banking, and/or corporate strategy experience
- Exposure to and demonstrated interest in financial services
