What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lower School Instructional Assistant position at Baltimore Lab School?
Baltimore Lab School seeks a full-time Lower School Instructional Assistant (IA) for the 2025-2026 school year.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the classroom teacher with preparation of classroom materials, academic instruction and informal assessments.
- Assist the classroom teacher in collecting data for accurate reporting of IEP/PEP goal progress.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and related service providers to provide one-to-one support to students, as needed.
- Implement positive behavior supports and prescribed behavioral strategies.
- Maintain the safety of students, staff, and self.
- Work with related service providers to ensure the carryover of learned skills and strategies into the classroom and school setting.
- Demonstrate knowledge of student’s learning styles and preferences, as well as executive functioning needs, and interact with the student accordingly.
This position is evaluated by the Division Head using the aforementioned job descriptions.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in a school setting.
- Background in education or a related field preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $31,160 - 40,885*
*Agreed upon salary will be based on years of experience and education level.
