Position Summary
Baltimore Fabrication, an Affiliate of SteelFab Inc., is looking for an Overhead Crane Operator, who would be responsible for safely and efficiently operate overhead cranes to move, position, and stage steel materials throughout our fabrication shop. This role supports production by performing material handling, rigging, loading/unloading, and assisting with general shop workflow.
Hiring For:
- 1st Shift: 5:00AM to 3:30PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:30PM to 1:30PM (includes a $2 shift differential)
Duties
- Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment safely across construction sites or industrial facilities.
- Coordinate with ground personnel to ensure precise placement of loads while maintaining safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of crane equipment to identify potential issues and perform basic maintenance or report repairs needed.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of crane components as required for different projects.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents or injuries during crane operation.
- Maintain accurate records of crane usage, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating overhead cranes in construction or industrial environments.
- Mechanical knowledge related to crane systems, heavy machinery, and construction equipment
- Ability to comprehend basic fabrication shop documents (material lists, tags, and prints)
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments while maintaining attention to detail and safety compliance.
- Experience in steel or miscellaneous metals is a plus
- Experience with material handling and/or rigging is a plus

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
