Schedule:
This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week. This position may be required to work evenings, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year as operationally needed.
Job Summary:
- Prepare clear and concise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support grant reporting and fund tracking. Compile and analyze financial data for decision making.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual operating budget.
- Analyze budget variances and make recommendations.
- Develop forecasts to support strategic planning.
- Directly supervise professional fiscal staff such as an accountant.
- Develop, implement, and manage new and revised fiscal standard operating procedures.
- Provide training, performance evaluations and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure financial transactions complying with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
- Review and approve journal entries.
- Review bank accounts and process cash drawdowns.
- Identify financial trends and risks to make informed operational decisions.
- Assist management in identifying and evaluating new sources of revenue.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and quantify alternative approaches.
- Collaborate with departments to evaluate program costs and funding needs.
- Serve as the Office of Information Technology (OIT) liaison for software product updates.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Train staff on budget tools and financial procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Three (3) years of experience in financial analysis (Government or Nonprofit setting preferred).
- Proficiency in Excel, financial software, and data visualization tools.
- Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of public sector budgeting and accounting standards.
We have a 14 step pay scale. Internal applicants starting pay varies based on their current step on the salary scale. We also offer, as appropriate, overtime pay, comp. time, and differential pay.
