Under the direction of the Extended School Year (ESY) Teacher and/or ESY Site Lead, the Summer School Paraeducator implements and monitors individualized education programs, provides appropriate specialized educational instructional support, and works closely with ESY Site Lead, teachers, and related staff to ensure continuity of services for meeting the specific needs of students with disabilities participating in either the ESY Life Skills, Citywide, Traditional, PRIDE, or PAL Programs.

In accordance with Maryland law, City School is required to share the position salary ranges in its entirety. Please note, this is not the hiring range. The hiring range for this position is ($25.136 - $36.761).
Essential Functions
- Provides direct support to students with disabilities based on their Individual Education Program (IEP) under the direction of the ESY teacher and ESY Site Lead.
- Experience working with students with cognitive, behavioral, intellectual, social, and emotional disabilities.
- Maintains appropriate records and documents for students participating in ESY summer programs.
- Participates in professional development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned.
- Functions as a paraeducator and may perform a variety of support duties.
- Paraeducators will participate in professional development before the ESY program starts and meet regularly with the ESY Teacher(s) and/or ESY Site Lead.

Desired Qualifications
- Special Education Paraeducator currently working in City Schools; previous experience working with City wide, Life Skills, PRIDE, or PAL programs preferred.
- Employee of Baltimore City Public Schools for the 2025-2026 school year, with the intention to remain an employee for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Possession of all appropriate licenses, certificates, and contracts for the 2026-2027 school year (non-renewals, expiring certifications, separations including retirees will not be considered for summer school employment).
- Acceptable annual rating by school principal/administrator.
- Capacity to support goals and objectives of programs to which assigned.
- Exhibits professional oral, written communications, and human relations skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
