What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician - Tippin's Gourmet Pie's position at Balls Foods?
The Quality Technician will fill an essential role in monitoring and improving food safety and quality programs ensuring procedures and specifications are consistently met and take appropriate actions in the event of a deviation during the 12:30am-9:30am shift. To assist in developing, modifying, and maintaining the plants' HACCP, SOP, SSOP, be backup to the SQF Practitioner, as needed and regulatory programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements for the production of safe and wholesome food.
The successful candidate will support Operations with the focus on Food Safety and Quality, build strong internal relationships and participate in non-conformance investigations, conduct internal audits for compliance to established policies and procedures, and participate in second and third party audits as required; Support the maintenance of the Document Control system including communicating, distributing, and archiving documents and records implementations, verifications, and training activities with integrity, accuracy, and moral conduct as related to all business opportunities and activities.
This is an exciting opportunity working in a fast-paced, small, lean food manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate has strong communications skills, is detail oriented, highly ethical, and possesses a desire for research and problem solving. Minimum 1 year industry related experience in food manufacturing or science related field, Bakery experience is a plus, knowledge of food safety quality systems, trained in HACCP, and pre-operational inspections (preferred).
Starting at $18.50/hour with regular pay increases.
