What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Title Clerk position at Ballou CDJR?
Ballou CDJR is growing, and we’re looking for a detail-oriented, reliable Automotive Title Clerk who is also a commissioned Pennsylvania Notary to join our team. This is a key position supporting our sales and finance departments to ensure fast, accurate processing of all title and registration work.
What You’ll Do
- Process all retail, wholesale, and dealer trade titles accurately and in compliance with Pennsylvania regulations
- Verify lien payoffs, title statuses, and required documentation
- Prepare and submit title and registration paperwork to PennDOT
- Issue temporary tags and complete title transfers as a PA Notary
- Reconcile schedules and maintain accurate records
- Assist with duplicate titles, corrections, and out-of-state transactions
- Maintain compliance with dealership, state, and federal guidelines
- Support the accounting office with additional administrative tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Active Pennsylvania Notary commission required
- Previous automotive title clerk experience preferred
- Strong understanding of Pennsylvania title and tag procedures
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with dealership systems (PennDOT, Dealertrack, Vitu) is a plus
