What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ballet Teacher for Children position at Ballet U?
Ballet U, a growing ballet school serving the greater Madison area is seeking dance instructors and/or early childhood professionals with a love for dance who are looking to share their passion with our youngest students (ages 2-6).
We’re currently hiring for our 2026-2027 season. We’re looking to fill one or more part-time positions with possible teaching times 1-2 mornings a week, 1-2 afternoons, Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon starting September 2026.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of ballet training (teaching experience not required, willing to train the right candidate)
- Early childhood education or parenting experience is a plus
- Ability to build connections with students, parents, and other teaching team members
- Experienced and confident to lead and engage a class of young children
- Good knowledge of early childhood development or eager to learn
- Believes in Ballet U’s values and teaching philosophies and the importance of joy and imagination in young children
- Ability to follow a syllabus and plan for the progressive learning of each class
- A desire for personal growth and learning and continued professional development
- Interested in long-term (2 years) teaching commitment
- Reliable, professional, and accountable
- Ability to use online systems for general administrative tasks
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour
