Under general supervision, the Child Development Instructor provides rigorous Career Technical Education (CTE) to prepare students for professional roles such as preschool teachers and administrators. The instructor delivers expert instruction in child development, health, and legal regulations, maintaining a safe and disciplined learning environment that integrates practical lab experiences with academic standards. The role focuses on equipping students with both technical expertise and essential employability skills, including ethics and communication—to ensure total career readiness in the childcare industry.
EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years of work experience in an education-related field, with at least one (1) year within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college/university is desired.
CREDENTIALS/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
Possession of, or ability to obtain prior to employment, a valid California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching or Vocational Credential for the subject to be taught is required. (Refer to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing website at www.ctc.ca.gov for Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credentials). (You must apply for annual waiver while completing University credentialing program of study until CTEL certification or EL equivalent is obtained through clear credential.) You must provide copies of credentials as required for the position or provide evidence of qualifying for required credential with your application materials.
Position Details:
- Location: Hillside High School
- Days & Hours: MTRF; 8:30AM-2:47PM, Wednesday (Minimum Day) 8:30AM-1:06PM
- School Periods: Schedule details are still being finalized; however, the position is expected to include five periods per day and one prep period.
- Hours Per Week: 25 hours per week
- Anticipated Start Date: July 2026
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $46.46 - $63.57 per hour
