This role reports into our Macedon, New York manufacturing plant.
WHAT WE NEED
The Associate Materials Planner is accountable for delivering exemplary service levels to our customers through their ability to effectively manage the correct materials and/or packaging consistent with customer requirements through analysis of production orders and demand. This is accomplished through accurate and timely data management. For the materials within assigned responsibility, this role requires interaction, on a daily basis, with the following functional groups: Demand Planning, Sales, R&D, Procurement, Operations and Quality Assurance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Primary responsibilities include monitoring and evaluating the ERP Management system to ensure operational supply of responsible materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials to ensure continuous production without overstocking.
- Manage and update material planning systems and databases to ensure accuracy and real-time information.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and resolve any supply issues.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Demand Planning, Procurement, and Logistics, to align material requirements with overall production plans and supply chain goals.
- Ensure minimizing product expirations and excess inventory from promotions.
- Evaluate planning, daily, for all products of responsibility to ensure accuracy in Purchase orders based on any changes to customer demands, including new orders, changes to current orders, and cancellations of any orders.
- Ensure material inventory levels are understood, monitored, and within the targeted levels for business requirements.
- Analyze and report on material shortages and work with suppliers and internal teams to address gaps.
- Evaluate consumption data and supplier performance to be able to set appropriate safety stock levels. Understand data to be able to make sure service level from suppliers is maintained.
- Monitor Logistics costs and take action to minimize variance to budget; Includes consolidation of inbound freight and pallet space requirements for the warehouse.
- Evaluate and offer improvements suggestions for the Supply Planning team
- Prepare reports or dashboards to provide reliable activity data to key stakeholders.
- Leverage data analytics to analyze material order trends and lead times for optimized safety stock levels
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) in supply chain, engineering, business with a focus in supply chain, required.
- A minimum of 6-months of operational experience such in a supply chain function.
