Position Summary:

The Quality Control (QC) Specialist is responsible for supporting product quality standards throughout warehouse operations by conducting secondary quality audits, investigating product concerns, and performing detailed quality reviews. This role serves as a key partner to QC Auditors by validating quality findings, researching product exceptions, and determining appropriate corrective actions to ensure products meet company, customer, and regulatory standards.

The QC Specialist works closely with Operations, Sales, Procurement, Inventory Control, and other cross-functional teams to identify quality trends, resolve product concerns, and support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen product quality, food safety, and operational performance.

Responsibilities:

·         Conduct secondary quality control audits and follow-up reviews based on findings identified by QC Auditors.

·         Investigate product concerns, discrepancies, and quality-related exceptions utilizing warehouse systems, product specifications, and operational data.

·         Review products requiring additional quality evaluations using handheld devices, warehouse technology, and established quality standards.

·         Evaluate product condition, freshness, grade, packaging integrity, labeling, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

·         Analyze product quality trends and identify recurring issues impacting product quality and inventory integrity.

·         Determine appropriate product disposition pathways including salvage, donation, return, disposal, rework, or additional review in accordance with company procedures.

·         Communicate quality findings and recommendations to Procurement, Sales, Operations, Inventory Control, and leadership teams.

·         Maintain accurate documentation related to investigations, corrective actions, product reviews, and quality findings.

·         Partner with warehouse teams to resolve product quality concerns and support corrective action plans.

·         Assist with customer complaints, vendor quality concerns, and operational product reviews as assigned.

·         Support compliance with GMP, HACCP, USDA, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.

·         Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, food safety, and operational excellence.

·         Perform additional quality control and operational duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

·         Prior inventory control, warehouse, auditing, logistics, or distribution experience preferred.

·         Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, handheld devices, or inventory management tools preferred.

·         Basic computer and data entry skills required.

·         Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

·         Ability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.

·         Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

·         Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

 

Physical Requirements:

·         Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout warehouse operational areas for extended periods of time.

·         Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products and materials within company-established guidelines, with or without reasonable accommodation.

·         Ability to perform inventory counts, product inspections, and audits using handheld scanners and warehouse technology.

·         Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, wet, or varying warehouse temperature environments.

·         Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as trained.

·         Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with workplace safety requirements.

·         Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

Work Environment:

This position operates within warehouse, production, and distribution environments that may include refrigerated, freezer, wet, and fast-paced operational conditions. Associates may be exposed to moving equipment, varying temperatures, and moderate to loud noise levels.
