Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Lead engaging activities including arts and crafts, sports, theater, outdoor games, and youth group programs to promote development and teamwork
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies
- Facilitate age-appropriate learning experiences tailored to individual needs, including tutoring or homework assistance when necessary
- Implement first aid protocols and respond promptly to medical or behavioral emergencies using CPR, AED operation, or other first aid procedures
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute youth development programs that support social-emotional growth
- Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and incident reports to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and promotes positive Christian counseling when appropriate
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to supervise children effectively
- Valid certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and knowledge of first aid protocols (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Background in special education or childhood development is a plus
- Experience facilitating youth group activities or sports coaching enhances your candidacy
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage children through teaching, tutoring, or theater experience
- Outdoor work experience is beneficial for supervising outdoor activities safely
- Passion for working with young children and fostering their growth in a supportive environment
