About The Role
Responsibilities (Duties of this position are included but not limited to):
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in children.
- Specialized training and experience in feeding and swallowing therapy.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs.
- Provide direct therapy to children with a variety of communication disorders, including articulation, phonology, fluency, voice, and language delays.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to provide holistic care.
- Educate and provide resources to families on communication strategies and techniques to support their child's development.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to enhance professional development.
- Stay current with research and best practices in pediatric speech-language pathology.
Education and Other Requirements:
- Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
- Master’s degree in Speech-language pathology or communicative disorders from an accredited program.
- New Mexico license in Speech-Language Pathology dispensed by the New Mexico Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
- Experience working with pediatric populations in a clinical, educational, or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of developmental milestones and pediatric speech-language disorders.
- Possess and enhance up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients & the ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy for patients.
- Demonstrates a “servitude” attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management skills to manage daily caseload.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Basic computer skills.
