The Opportunity
The Operations & Communications Coordinator serves as a key connector across the organization, supporting internal operations, executive priorities, board coordination, and external communications. This role works closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to keep priorities moving, ensure strong organizational coordination, and maintain a consistent and compelling brand presence.

What You’ll Do
Operations & Executive Support
- Prepare meeting agendas, briefing materials, and follow-up notes in support of Executive Director priorities
- Coordinate travel arrangements, itineraries, and meeting logistics
- Maintain well-organized digital files, systems, and documentation using Google Workspace
Board & Organizational Support
- Coordinate logistics for board and committee meetings, including scheduling, agendas, and meeting materials
- Prepare and distribute board packets, presentations, and supporting documents
- Track board action items, decisions, and follow-up tasks
- Support board communications and maintain accurate organizational records
Social Media & Marketing
- Manage Leadership California’s social media presence, including drafting content, scheduling posts, and engaging with the community
- Design branded graphics and visual content in Canva for announcements, marketing, and social media
- Support newsletters, digital announcements, and program promotions
- Help ensure consistency in messaging, voice, and brand across platforms
Website & Digital Content
- Maintain and update the Leadership California website, including announcements, program information, and content updates
- Work within WordPress to update pages, images, and copy
- Coordinate with external vendors or consultants on website updates and improvements as needed
Presentations & Communications Materials
- Create polished presentations and visual materials using Canva and Google Slides
- Assist in preparing reports, one-pagers, and stakeholder-facing communications
- Support the development of marketing materials for events, programs, and leadership initiatives
Event & Program Support
- Support logistics for events, board meetings, and program sessions
- Assist with coordination for statewide leadership programs and convenings
- Manage attendee communications and materials as needed
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in executive support, administrative coordination, communications, or nonprofit operations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience managing social media platforms and content
- Proficiency in Canva for graphics and marketing materials
- Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, and Drive
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with WordPress or similar website platforms
- Experience supporting nonprofit leaders or boards of directors
- Familiarity with nonprofit governance and mission-driven organizations
- Experience supporting events, programs, or statewide organizations
