Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CDCA) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Duties

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify mental health and substance use needs using diagnostic tools aligned with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards.
• Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
• Implement crisis intervention strategies promptly to ensure patient safety during acute episodes or behavioral crises.
• Facilitate motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and enhance motivation for change.
• Manage case documentation meticulously in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including medical records, treatment plans, progress notes, and intake forms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans, conduct diagnostic evaluations, and monitor treatment progress.
• Provide specialized support for patients dealing with PTSD, addiction issues, or complex mental health conditions within hospital or community settings.
• Engage in research activities or data collection efforts aimed at improving clinical outcomes and advancing behavioral health practices.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a CDCA with active licensure or registration required by state law.
• Proven experience in psychotherapy, crisis management, and addiction counseling within clinical or community environments.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical documentation standards.
• Expertise in social work principles, case management, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
• Proficiency in conducting intake assessments and patient care planning tailored to individual needs.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance protocols to ensure confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
• Experience working with diverse populations in home care or hospital settings is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate clients through motivational interviewing and group therapy sessions.
