Job Title: Quality Assurance (QA) Technician
Type of Role: Contract To Hire
Shift / Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Hourly Range: $23.50 per hour
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Technician to support quality assurance activities in a food and beverage manufacturing environment. This position conducts inspections, coordinates product samples and testing, and maintains accurate documentation to help ensure products meet quality and regulatory standards.
Role and Responsibilities:

Inspect incoming ingredients, materials, and finished products for compliance with quality standards.

Collect, label, document, store, and track samples according to established procedures.

Perform in-house analytical testing and quality checks, maintaining accurate records of results.

Conduct routine audits, identify non-conformities, and assist with corrective actions.

Maintain inspection records, sample tracking logs, supplier approval documentation, and quality reports.

Assist with creating and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Monitor quality metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Verify proper storage, handling, labeling, and traceability of ingredients and finished products.

Collaborate with production, warehouse, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns.

Support staff training on quality procedures and assist with recalls, returns, and material disposal as needed.
Skills and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Quality Assurance, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field is a plus.

Food manufacturing experience required.

Previous experience in quality assurance, laboratory testing, or sample coordination preferred.

Proficiency with Excel and computerized tracking and documentation systems.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accurate recordkeeping.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and troubleshoot quality-related issues.

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, regularly use a computer, and occasionally lift items weighing less than 10 pounds.

Ability to work in an environment with food allergens, including milk, eggs, fish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and soy.

Completion of required pre-employment screening, including a background check, 10-panel oral swab drug screening with THC, and E-Verify employment eligibility verification.
