Kamatics is looking for an Inspector III to join our Bloomfield, CT team on second shift. This role is responsible for performing inspection activities on products and materials, including first-piece inspections and in-process monitoring, to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and Kamatics’ quality standards.
The Inspector III works closely with the Value Stream Manager and/or Senior Team Leader to meet production schedules, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Quality Assurance Supervisor for quality-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of mechanical components and assemblies to close tolerances.
Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections within assigned value streams.
Identify surface, dimensional, visual, material, documentation, and workmanship non-conformities in accordance with blueprints and Kamatics’ quality standards.
Report non-conforming materials or unusual conditions to the Quality Supervisor and cell leader.
Utilize inspection equipment to verify drawing specifications, including:
Mastery: Calipers, micrometers, dial bore gages, chamfer gages, profilometers
Proficiency: Optical comparators, Sunnen gages
Demonstrate proficiency in measuring GD&T characteristics, including roundness, parallelism, concentricity, runout, perpendicularity, flatness, and total runout.
Demonstrate ability to identify GD&T items such as true position and material modifiers.
Operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to inspect product.
Complete all responsibilities in accordance with productivity, quality expectations, and established work procedures.
Maintain inspection records, data, and logs; create inspection documentation such as IMS, first article, and related forms.
Navigate computer systems and software to access drawings, inspection plans, and verification requirements.
Provide leadership and training support as needed to ensure production schedules are met.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; follow all safety and environmental procedures and report incidents as required.
Recommend improvements to work processes and procedures; actively contribute to 5S initiatives.
Deliver a high level of service to internal and external customers while fostering a positive team environment.
Perform other duties as assigned and participate in cross-training or learning additional positions.
Job Accountabilities:
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
2–3 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Must meet all defined competency requirements for the role.

Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints
Experience completing inspection method sheets and first article documentation

Frequent mental and visual attention to detail
Occasional lifting and moving of materials weighing up to 50 lbs. (15–40%)
Schedule
Second shift: 3:30 PM – 1:00 AM
Includes one hour of mandatory overtime at the start of each shift for a required 45-hour work week
Overtime paid at 1.5x the hourly rate for all hours worked over 40 in a week
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet customer demands
Flexibility to work varying schedules as required
