BakerHostetler is seeking a Private Wealth Associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its Private Wealth team in Washington, DC. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong technical background in trusts and estates and tax planning who is interested in working with sophisticated, high net worth clients in a collaborative, team oriented environment.

Compensation
The expected annual salary for this position ranges from $245,000-$315,000. The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, experience level, education/training, and relevant skills. Associates also participate in a performance and hours-based bonus program.

Responsibilities
- Advise high net worth individuals, families, and fiduciaries on estate, gift, GST, and income tax planning matters
- Draft and review a wide range of estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, charitable planning vehicles, and related instruments
- Assist with the administration of estates and trusts, including filings, distributions, and fiduciary issues
- Support senior attorneys on complex lifetime wealth transfer strategies, succession planning, and asset protection planning
- Collaborate with internal teams and outside advisors, including accountants, investment advisors, and family offices
- Using fintech related applications to support the client experience is a plus
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- 3–5 years of private wealth / trusts & estates experience at a law firm
- Tax LL.M. or CPA preferred
- DC Bar admission or eligibility to waive in; TX or FL Bar admission a plus
