BakerHostetler is seeking an experienced associate with 3 - 6 years of experience to join its Business Group. The candidate will work on a national platform, supporting partners across the country and handling a broad range of corporate matters, including public and private M&A, private equity transactions, joint ventures, growth equity financings, and general corporate and commercial work for in house legal departments and operating teams of both public and private companies.

The salary offered in any location will be determined by a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, experience level, education/training, geographic region, and relevant skills. Associates also participate in a performance- and hours-based bonus program.
For Cleveland, the expected annual salary range for this position is $220,000-$250,000.

Qualifications Include
- Experience working on M&A deals, including preparing ancillary documents, performing due diligence, and preparing diligence reports, as well as experience with general corporate transactions and capital markets transactions.
- Must be able to run deals from start to end, with minimal supervision, manage client relationships and handle the day-to-day requirements to provide a high level of service to our elite clients.
- Experience in other corporate or transactional matters, such as joint ventures and/or commercial contracts.
- Must have strong drafting and negotiating skills, strong verbal communication skills and work well in a team setting.
- Must have a strong academic record, having earned a J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited school.
- Must be admitted to practice law in Ohio.
- AmLaw 100 - 200 law firm experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage sophisticated transactions while simultaneously maintaining priorities and anticipating issues.
- Comfort working with partners across offices and clients in multiple markets, with strong virtual meeting presence and polished client facing communication skills.
- The professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to exercise sound legal judgment while delivering timely, business focused guidance and maintaining a high level of responsiveness and client service.
- Effective project management capabilities, ensuring coordination across stakeholders and timely execution of key deliverables.
