Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced and motivated Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our ready-mix concrete plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing personnel, ensuring efficient production, maintaining high-quality safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer service at our Defiance, Ohio AND Butler, Indiana plants. This position plays a vital role in the success and productivity of our operations.
Duties
- Manage all day-to-day operations of the ready-mix plant, including production, maintenance, quality control and safety.
- Supervise plant staff, drivers and dispatchers to ensure efficient scheduling and timely deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and builders supply items and coordinate with vendors for timely replenishment.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Track production output and implement improvements to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Oversee maintenance and repairs of plant equipment and coordinate preventative maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to meet customer expectations and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate production and delivery records, reports and logs.
- Lead and train employees to uphold company values and productivity standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in ready-mix concrete operations or a related industry.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of concrete batching systems and plant equipment.
- Understanding of quality control procedures and safety standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and operational software (e.g., Sysdyne or similar)
- CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus
- High school diploma or GED required; a degree in Construction Management, Business or Engineering is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle physical demands.
- Some weekend and evening work may be required.
