The Research Librarian - Temporary will deliver Office/Country information and research services within the context of the firm's Information and Research strategy. The role-holder will work with the Information & Research Lead (Country), Country Knowledge Partner, and local Knowledge team in support of information and research requests and enquiries.
Main responsibilities:
Service Orientation:
- Maintain and build strong relationships with Partners and Lawyers in the Office/Country, the Regional I&R Lead, regional Expert functions (Information Product Management and Research Leads, Knowledge Lawyers
- Demonstrate value through effective communication with stakeholders and key relationships
Knowledge & Expertise:
- Understand and promote the role and functionality of the firm's research, content and information repositories and resources
- Ensure and facilitate timely access to relevant legal information and research resources to support lawyers providing advice to clients
- Manage and coordinate the referral of local enquiries to the appropriate Service Centre and then respond to enquiries requiring in-market expertise for research, information or initial current awareness set-up as applicable
- Apply industry thinking, initiative and experience when providing information and research
People Management:
- Collaborative, supportive, team player working with other in-market Librarians and the wider Information & Research and Knowledge communities
Work Management:
- Support and participate in the adoption and use of Knowledge and I&R systems
- Participate in projects as requested
- Aware of and participate in the firm's goals
Skills and experience:
- A relevant undergraduate degree
- Good relevant experience with strong experience in Knowledge, information, and research in a professional services environment
- Able to manage multiple stakeholders, build strong relationships virtually, communicate effectively, be comfortable working in a large, complex environment, and be highly credible and persuasive
- Strong people management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage people's time to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to drive results and a sense of urgency in setting strategies and executing against the objectives
- Proven ability to influence, interact and consult with senior leaders, strong collaboration skills, and effective stakeholder management
- Strong communication skills and highly credible presentation skills
- Comprehension of a diverse set of knowledge and information resources
