Baker Lumber Inc. is a family-owned hardwood lumberyard serving cabinet shops, furniture makers, contractors, woodworkers, and homeowners throughout New England. We are looking for a motivated, dependable individual to join our growing team in our mill shop.

What You’ll Do
Every day is different. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Surface rough hardwood lumber using industrial planers and straight-line rip saws
Produce custom moldings, flooring, paneling, shiplap, trim, and other specialty millwork
Set up and operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently
Inspect material for quality and ensure customer orders are completed accurately
Package and prepare orders for pickup or delivery
Assist customers loading lumber when needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Occasionally deliver materials to customers, contractors, and job sites using company delivery trucks
Fill in for delivery drivers during vacations or busy periods
Assist throughout the lumberyard as needed
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
Reliable and punctual
Comfortable working with power equipment and industrial machinery
Able to lift 50 pounds regularly
Detail-oriented with pride in producing quality work
Able to work independently while also being a strong team player
Willing to learn new skills and grow with the company
Preferred Qualifications
Experience is appreciated but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
Woodworking
Cabinet making
Carpentry
Hardwood lumber
Millwork
Molding production
Flooring manufacturing
Forklift operation
Commercial truck driving (non-CDL or CDL)
A good driving record is required.
