Baker Lumber Inc. is a family-owned hardwood lumberyard serving cabinet shops, furniture makers, contractors, woodworkers, and homeowners throughout New England. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Mill Shop Associate to join our growing production team.

What You'll Do

As a Mill Shop Associate, you'll help transform rough hardwood and softwood lumber into finished products our customers use every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Surface rough hardwood lumber using industrial planers and other milling equipment
• Produce custom moldings, flooring, paneling, shiplap, trim, and specialty millwork
• Set up and safely operate woodworking equipment
• Inspect lumber for quality before and after machining
• Read work orders and prepare customer orders accurately
• Package completed orders for pickup or delivery
• Keep the mill shop clean, organized, and operating efficiently
• Occasionally assist with loading customer orders
• Work alongside an experienced team to produce high-quality wood products

Experience is helpful but not required. We are happy to train someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Experience

Any experience in the following is a plus:

• Woodworking
• Cabinet making
• Carpentry
• Lumber or building materials
• Millwork
• Hardwood lumber
• Woodworking machinery
• Forklift operation

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 75 pounds regularly
• Stand for extended periods
• Work safely around industrial woodworking machinery
• Work in a production shop environment
