Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell and Berkowitz, PC has an immediate opening for a Training Specialist in either its Atlanta, Birmingham, Chattanooga, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Knoxville, Memphis, New Orleans or Orlando offices. This is an in office position with the ability to work remotely two days a week following an orientation period. The training specialist is responsible for delivering training and support services to the Firm’s employees and will work with subject matter experts and content developers to develop learning objectives, lesson plans, and documentation, and collaborates with the training manager in the design and implementation of training programs.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to superior customer service
- Contributes to high morale among team members and learners promoting the benefits of continuing education and performance improvement
- Delivers instructor-led training and web-based conferencing to learners of various skill levels and in all positions
- Presents seminars, workshops, or briefings to large audiences
- Provides one-on-one performance support to individual learners
- Partners with subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop content for specific business groups and learners
- Assists the Content Developer in developing course curriculum, including teaching aids, course outlines, exercises, reference guides, and other training content
- Serves as a productive member of the training team, contributing to the overall success of the training department and training initiatives
- Communicates with the training manager to discuss progress on training programs and report trends and problems as they arise
- Assists in the maintenance of the Firm’s learning management system, and in tracking courses and registrations
- Partners with the help desk and IT support specialist on issues to be incorporated into training
- Masters new technology and internal processes
- This is a partially remote position
Qualifications will include:
- Three years of experience delivering classroom software training in the legal industry and working knowledge of adult learning concepts
- Degree in Adult Education, a related field, or equivalent experience
- Solid understanding of the Firm’s current technology and ability to learn new technologies and training methodologies rapidly
- Advanced skill level in the Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Professional; experience with NetDocuments, PDFDocs and WebEx a plus
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with various technical skill levels and diverse job functions
- Commitment to excellence in the delivery of training and support
- Self-motivated, with a proven ability to learn quickly, multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team
- Able to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
- Resourceful, creative and flexible
- Experience with learning management systems administration a plus
