Position Overview

The Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of Baja Amusements, ensuring safe, efficient, and memorable guest experiences. This hands-on leadership role manages attractions, food & beverage, guest services, staffing, and facilities while supporting a high-energy, seasonal team. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, leads from the front, and balances operational discipline with hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day park operations including go-kart tracks, rides, food & beverage, and guest services
  • Ensure consistent standards for safety, cleanliness, and guest experience
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure proper coverage while managing labor costs
  • Provide on-site leadership during peak hours, special events, and high-traffic periods

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety protocols to protect guests and team members
  • Conduct routine inspections of rides, facilities, and equipment
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain compliance with local regulations and industry best practices
  • Promote and model a strong, park-wide safety culture

Guest Experience

  • Address guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns promptly and professionally
  • Support marketing initiatives, promotions, and seasonal events
  • Foster a welcoming, energetic atmosphere aligned with the Baja brand

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and support seasonal and supervisory staff
  • Set clear expectations, provide coaching, and maintain accountability
  • Build morale and teamwork in a fast-paced, seasonal environment

Financial & Performance Oversight

  • Assist with budgeting and management of operational expenses
  • Monitor performance metrics including labor efficiency and operational flow
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and control costs

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the operating season
  • Peak-season hours may be extended and varied
  • Off-season schedule is more traditional, focused on planning, maintenance coordination, and time off
  • This is a hands-on, on-site role requiring strong floor presence

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of operations or management experience in amusement, FEC, hospitality, or similar environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple departments and make decisions under pressure
  • Guest-focused mindset with attention to safety and team development
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
