Position Summary:

This role will oversee the cutting, sticking, and planting crews for the propagation department and ensuring critical information is inputted into the company database. It will require steady leadership and attention to detail to ensure efficient production practices to meet deadlines with high quality product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Organize and execute daily work plansIndependently monitor and perform ongoing dutiesRecord, and report appropriate data and metrics Maintain current and accurate internal inventory of all stock material used for propagationDesign, establish, record, and input data for propagation and production trialsPromote safe work environment and enforce safety requirementsEnsure crews have necessary tools and information to complete tasks safely and efficientlyMonitor and develop processes for continual improvementOversee and train a crew of employees as neededDuties involve overseeing a crew for tasks like:Taking and sticking cuttings with consistency and qualityMoving and organization of greenhouse plantsPlanting liners into a range of different container sizesOther duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Basic leadership skills and willingness to train othersDegree in horticulture/related field or equivalent experienceStrong attention to detail and organizational abilitiesBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office and data entry)Understanding of basic plant care practices (watering, weeding, pest control)Ability to safely operate heavy equipment, and willingness to learn to operate additional machinery as needed.Ability to work independently and within a team environmentValid driver's license (meeting company insurability requirements)

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This position requires the ability to lift up to 60 lbs., stand and walk for extended periods, bend, squat, and kneel. Work takes place in both indoor and outdoor settings, including production and warehouse areas. Exposure to dirt, dust, humidity, and fluctuating temperatures is expected. The ability to work under time constraints while maintaining safety and accuracy is essential.
