Position Description
Bailey Civil Group is seeking a Civil Engineer with 2–3 years of land development experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work with our engineering team on the design and preparation of construction plans for residential, commercial, and industrial land development projects.
This position is intended for an engineer who already has hands-on experience preparing site development plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and is looking for an opportunity to expand their technical abilities, project responsibilities, and overall land development experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of site design, grading, drainage, utilities, erosion and sediment control, and the construction plan development process.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant civil site/land development experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Demonstrated knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods
- Experience preparing construction plans for land development projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
The Civil Engineer will assist with the design and production of construction plans for residential, commercial, and industrial developments. Responsibilities will include:
- Prepare site development plans and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Prepare site grading and drainage plans
- Develop erosion and sediment control plans
- Design storm drainage systems and prepare storm sewer layouts
- Design sanitary sewer systems using Civil 3D pipe networks
- Assist with water and utility layout and design
- Perform grading, drainage, utility, and other civil engineering calculations
- Assist with stormwater management and drainage analysis
- Research municipal zoning ordinances, development regulations, and design requirements
- Assist with local and state permitting requirements associated with land development projects
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical documentation, and engineering reports
- Coordinate with project managers and other members of the design team
- Assist with addressing review comments from municipalities and regulatory agencies
- Support projects from initial design through permitting and construction

The ideal candidate is a motivated engineer who can contribute to the production of construction plans while continuing to develop into a more independent project engineer.

- Sanitary sewer and utility design

Compensation
$60,000 – $80,000 per year
Compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, technical capabilities, Civil 3D proficiency, and overall qualifications.
