We are seeking a detail-oriented Real Estate Closing Paralegal to support residential and commercial real estate transactions in a boutique Massachusetts law practice. This role focuses on managing files from contract through post-closing, ensuring that transactions are organized, compliant, and executed efficiently under attorney supervision.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and experienced in coordinating with lenders, real estate agents, clients, and title professionals to facilitate smooth closings. This position is transactional in nature and does not involve litigation or court preparation.

  • Assist attorneys and team with the management of residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract through post-closing, ensuring timely and compliant execution of all closing requirements.
  • Prepare and coordinate execution of transactional documents including deeds, settlement statements, affidavits, transfer forms, and lender-required closing packages.
  • Order, review, and track title examinations, municipal lien certificates, tax information, payoff statements, and other due diligence materials required for closing.
  • Coordinate closely with lenders, real estate agents, buyers, sellers, and title professionals to facilitate smooth and efficient transaction workflows.
  • Monitor contingency deadlines, lender conditions, and closing timelines to ensure transactions progress without delay.
  • Assemble and review closing packages for completeness and accuracy prior to funding and recording.
  • Support the closing process by coordinating scheduling, preparing closing binders, and facilitating execution of documents in accordance with Massachusetts conveyancing practices.
  • Assist with preparation and tracking of disbursements, including coordination of trust account activity as directed by supervising attorney.
  • Prepare recording packages and ensure timely submission of documents to Massachusetts Registries of Deeds.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical transaction files in compliance with firm policies and confidentiality standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple residential and commercial real estate transactions simultaneously while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing closing documentation including settlement statements, deeds, affidavits, and lender closing packages.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience coordinating effectively with lenders, real estate agents, clients, and title professionals to ensure smooth transaction execution.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to track deadlines, contingencies, and post-closing obligations.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills in a client-facing transactional environment.
  • Ability to handle clerical tasks such as data entry, file organization, phone etiquette, and general office support efficiently.
  • Proficiency with real estate transaction management and closing software platforms (e.g., Qualia, E-Closing, or similar systems).
