DOD SkillBridge Program – Project Manager

BAE Systems is offering a unique DoD SkillBridge opportunity for transitioning military members seeking to gain valuable experience in Project Management in Fort Walton Beach, FL. As a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the Deputy Operations Director and PMO Program Manager in managing project progress and timelines, and ensuring the timely completion of technical operations and project management needs.

Essential Functions/Duties
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, specifications, and timelines
o Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource allocations to ensure project milestones are met
o Monitor and track project progress, identifying potential risks or issues and implementing corrective actions as required
o Create compelling content, such as pitch decks and executive summaries, for business development and consulting meetings
o Assist in establishing and maintaining organizational project management methodology and procedures
o Create and maintain reports and documentation related to Operations infrastructure
o Collaborate with the Program Manager Office to implement strategic projects


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Requirements
o Bachelor's degree
o Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or a related field
o Proven experience prioritizing multiple tasks, managing projects, and adapting to a changing environment
o Awareness of project management principles and practices
o Strong written and verbal communication skills
o Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with and present to all levels of employees and leadership
o Proficient in MS Office suite of tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams

Eligibility Requirements for SkillBridge Fellowship
o Must be eligible to participate in Fellowship per DoD Instruction 1322.29
o Must be projected to receive an honorable discharge from the military
o Must receive approval from Unit Commander or chain of command
o Must be located within a commutable distance or willing/approved to relocate to Fort Walton Beach, FL

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
