Job Description
The Trim Packager is responsible for performing final inspections of materials prior to shipment, ensuring all products meet quality standards and are properly prepared for delivery. This role involves verifying product integrity, securely palletizing items, and applying shrink wrap to prevent damage during transit. The Trim Packager plays a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction through careful attention to detail and adherence to packaging protocols.
Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm
Essential Functions
- Receive and verify incoming doors and materials
- Match invoices to receiving documents
- Check and confirm door tags, ship dates, and color
- Visually inspect species and style for accuracy
- Check for defects: veneer cracks, chips, dings, nicks, etc.
- Verify hinge mortising, hinge color, stop/jamb reveal, and bevel cuts
- Wrap and protect all door types (single slabs, pre-hung, pallets)
- Operate and maintain door wrapping machine
- Change spools and troubleshoot wrapping equipment
- Create and apply accurate pick ticket labels
- Ensure labels are placed squarely for easy identification
- Operate labeling machines and replace labels/ribbons as needed
- Use computer system to check pick tickets, POs, and product availability
- Understand warehouse stock and door locations
- Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in packaging or manufacturing environment
