Job Description
The Millwork Machinist is responsible for machining a wide range of interior and exterior doors, trim, molding, and other custom wood components. This role plays a key part in Badger’s production process by ensuring precision and consistency in every piece produced. Working closely with production and management teams, the machinist will follow established procedures and specifications to meet quality standards and customer expectations. Attention to detail, craftsmanship, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to success in this position.
Hours: 2nd shift (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm)
Essential Functions
- Operation and maintenance of door machinery.
- Operate routers and hinge prep.
- Match invoices to receiving documents.
- Check and match door tags to invoices, verify ship dates and color.
- Visually check species and style of product to ensure product accuracy.
- Visually check for defects: veneer cracks, mineral saps, chips, dings, nicks, etc.
- Determine if product is suitable for sanding, finishing, and shipping to customer.
- Knowledge of machining equipment.
- Proper use of respirators dust masks, gloves, safety glasses, and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed by the Safety Director.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- 2-5 years minimum related machining experience.
