Director of Engineering

Badger Talent Solutions is seeking a Director of Engineering for a full-time, on-site opportunity in Kenosha, WI. This is an outstanding leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering professional who enjoys developing people, driving technical excellence, and partnering with operations to shape the future of a growing manufacturing organization.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, you'll lead the engineering organization while overseeing product development, manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, and long-term engineering strategy.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team while building future technical leaders
• Drive engineering strategy, product development, manufacturing engineering, and project execution across the organization
• Standardize engineering processes, documentation, change management, and knowledge management systems
• Partner with manufacturing to improve productivity, product quality, and overall manufacturability through Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
• Oversee engineering resources, project priorities, KPIs, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful execution
• Provide technical leadership for complex engineering challenges while supporting long-term business growth and innovation

✅ Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required (PE License preferred)
• 5 years of engineering leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teams
• Strong background supporting both product development and manufacturing engineering
• Experience with hydraulic systems or hydraulic cylinders strongly preferred
• Experience supporting AS9100, NQA-1 or IATF 16949 regulated manufacturing environment
• Strong project management, communication, organizational, and strategic leadership skills
• Experience implementing engineering standards, engineering change management, and continuous improvement initiatives
