Backup Power LLC is a locally owned, fast-growing generator company serving residential and commercial customers throughout Western Pennsylvania. We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting & Bookkeeping Specialist who enjoys keeping financial records accurate, organized, and up to date while helping our company continue to grow.
This position is ideal for someone who has bookkeeping experience in the construction, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or service industries and understands job costing.
What You'll Do
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online
- Process accounts payable and vendor payments
- Generate customer invoices and monitor accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
- Track job costs, profitability, and project expenses
- Assist with payroll processing through Gusto and employee reimbursements
- Prepare monthly financial reports for ownership
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Process sales tax and other routine filings
- Work closely with our CPA during month-end and year-end
- Assist with budgeting and cash flow reporting
- Help improve accounting processes as the company grows
- Assist with managing inventory
Qualifications
Required
- 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Experience with QuickBooks Online
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Strong communication skills
Preferred
- Construction or service industry accounting experience
- Job costing experience
- Payroll experience
- Experience with Gusto Payroll
- Experience with field service software
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
