The Role
As a Carrier Procurement Specialist, you will source, negotiate, and secure carriers to move available freight in a timely and cost-effective manner. You’ll also work on projects related to handling pricing and capacity for specialized moves. On our team, you’ll have the support to excel at work and the opportunity to build a rewarding career.
The is a fully in-office position, based in Minneapolis and very accessible by transit.
Compensation range for this role: $21.64 hourly Commission
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Cultivate strong core carrier relationships while negotiating and securing carriers to move freight
- Maintain continuous communication with carriers and customers to ensure a high-quality freight movement process
- Ensure all parties are informed of route changes, delays, freight concerns or other issues as necessary
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointment times; use discretion and insight when considering all factors affecting timeframe, including weather, traffic, etc.
- Follow established procedures and protocols regarding HVS and HRC loads to ensure the integrity of the shipment and the brand
- Accurately maintain and update information in the company’s operating systems
- Conduct research in available databases for potential leads; make cold calls to prospects
- Track back-end billing and invoicing to ensure that carrier charges are accurate

The details
- Location: Currently in Downtown Minneapolis with easy access to metro transit (bus and train). The team is relocating to a new office in the West End area in August.
- Schedule: Fully onsite Monday through Thursday. Shifts are either 7am to 4pm or 8am to 5pm depending on the account assigned, with flexibility based on preference.
- Flex Days: 14 additional flex days available, usable as extra work-from-home days or schedule adjustments.
