Backfield in Motion, Inc. is seeking dynamic and committed Afterschool Classroom Teachers to lead small-group academic instruction in literacy and math for students in grades K–8. Teachers will be responsible for creating a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment that fosters academic improvement, student confidence, and social-emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate daily instructional sessions focused on reading, writing, and math.
- Utilize provided curriculum resources and modify instruction to meet students' individual learning needs.
- Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior and classroom management.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to the Chief Academic Officer.
- Communicate with program staff, volunteers, and families to support student success.
- Assist with program transitions and support enrichment activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments and student participation.
- Uphold Backfield in Motion’s mission, values, and program goals.
- Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in an education-related college program preferred.
- Experience teaching or tutoring elementary or middle school students, particularly in literacy and math.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and youth engagement strategies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- A passion for working with youth in underserved communities.
- Must pass a TBI fingerprint/background check.
- Must provide proof of education and a recent physical exam.
- Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Occasional evening or weekend participation may be required for parent engagement events or training.
- $25 per hour
