Job Summary
The ED is appointed by and reports to the Governing Board (“Board”) and supports it to fulfil the vision and mission of The Helping Hand. The ED is expected to operate within broadly stated objectives set by the Board. The ED has full responsibility for the management, professional & spiritual development of the organization. At this level, spiritual maturity, initiative, judgement, analysis and creativity are required in relationship building, situational analysis and decision making.
The ED is expected to be hands on, actively present on-site and set standards of work as guided by Christian principles and professional standards. The job covers many differing, often complex activities in many areas including driving organizational transformation, stakeholder outreach & engagement and programmatic therapy for the rehabilitation of ex-offenders. The ED should lead, inspire and manage all staff of the organization, from management of personnel, finance, administration, sales, partnerships to external media and communications. He/she nurtures teamwork across different units while balancing sometimes competing priorities between the operational, commercial and spiritual work of staff, ranging from key specialists, professional, administrative and contract staff.

Desired Qualifications And Experience
- Christian with a proven track record of applying his/her faith and Christian principles to the leadership of an organization;
- Experience working with a social service agency (SSA) and its stakeholders at all levels (for e.g., in the case of THH: Singapore Prison Service, Singapore Government, other halfway houses, social enterprises and social mobility charities, THH Board, management and a large pool of THH Board committee and bible study volunteers);
- Ability to build effective team and prioritize unity of the organization above individual units;
- Degree in management or social work or other relevant qualifications is an advantage;
- Experience in managing financial reporting and other charity governance requirements is essential;
- At least 3 years in a Senior Management Position in an SSA in Singapore is preferred; and,
- Professional experience in managing ex-offenders is an advantage.
