PTA Liaison / School Outreach Associate

Bach to Rock Music School in Nanuet, NY is seeking a part-time PTA Liaison for Rockland County. The ideal candidate will have strong connections in the local school and PTA community, a passion for education, and an interest in helping students and families discover music education opportunities.

Position Purpose:

To expand our tradition of working closely with PTAs and public schools to provide music education to students of all ages. The PTA Liaison will use their relationships and knowledge of the Rockland County school community to help Bach to Rock increase its presence at PTA and school events.

At these events, Bach to Rock adds real value by offering engaging music-based activities such as instrument petting zoos, student performances, and other hands-on experiences that schools and PTAs appreciate. We also have a long history of providing music education within local schools over the years, and the Liaison may help us expand those opportunities.

Ideally, the PTA Liaison will also be available to cover the front desk on Saturdays and represent Bach to Rock Music School at local PTA and school events. While at the front desk, this person will greet clients, make and answer phone calls, and provide support to families and students attending lessons.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Expand our activities with PTAs and local schools
• Identify and secure opportunities for Bach to Rock to participate in PTA and school events
• Ideally, cover the front desk on Saturdays and assist at events

Knowledge and Abilities Required:

• Ability to interact effectively with the public
• Ability to handle occasional bursts of fast-paced multitasking
• Ability to operate basic office equipment (eg: telephones, photocopiers, and computers)
• Effective time management and organizational skills

Education, Work Experience:

• College degree or comparable experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
• PTA, school, community outreach, customer service, or administrative experience preferred
