Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Insurance Verification and Treatment Coordinator to join our vibrant dental practice team. Your expertise will help optimize patient care by verifying insurance coverage, obtaining prior authorizations, and accurately coding treatments. Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to scheduled treatments using electronic health records (EHR) CURVE HERO systems and insurance portals.
- Obtain and process insurance prior authorizations efficiently to facilitate timely treatment scheduling.
- Review and interpret dental insurance policies, including managed care plans, to determine coverage limits and patient responsibilities.
- Accurately apply CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding for procedures and diagnoses in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Maintain thorough documentation of medical records, treatment plans, and insurance communications while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure proper medical terminology is used in treatment documentation and billing processes.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools for record keeping, reporting, and communication with insurance companies and patients.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient questions regarding insurance benefits, coverage details, and billing procedures.
- Stay updated on health insurance policies, medical billing practices, and EHR/EHR management protocols to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental or medical office setting with a focus on insurance verification, medical billing, or treatment coordination.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, managed care plans, HIPAA regulations, and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Proficiency in CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), medical terminology, and electronic health records (EHR) management systems.
- Familiarity with medical office software such as Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication purposes.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex insurance information clearly to patients.
- Experience handling medical records accurately while maintaining compliance with privacy standards.
