Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Line Cook responsible for preparing and cooking menu items at our Sag Harbor Diner. Our concept focuses on elevated diner classics - breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, comfort food, and daily specials.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability for daily specials
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Serve dishes promptly to ensure timely delivery to guests or service staff, maintaining a lively pace during busy hours
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, ensuring smooth workflow and exceptional service
Requirements
- Proven experience in a restaurant or food service environment, demonstrating strong kitchen skills and culinary knowledge
- Knowledge of food handling safety practices and proper knife skills for efficient meal preparation
- Ability to remain focused, organized, and composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry best practices
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and serving guests with enthusiasm
