Position: Transportation Manager
Location: Babcock Center Corporate Office
Supervisor: Support Services Director
Working Hours: Forty (40) hours per week as assigned and on-call as scheduled
Qualifications:
The Transportation Manager position requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid South Carolina drivers license with a good driving record. The position requires a solid knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Word, CMMS and Pay-Com. The position requires the ability to create and maintain data bases. The position requires solid organizational, communication and documentation skills. Must possess the willingness and ability to cooperate with staff and management of Babcock Center including all Contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall successful daily operation of the Transportation Department.
- Responsible for ensuring all leased and owned vehicles are in safe and operational condition.
- Responsible for the investigation of vehicle accidents and completion of required documents and reports.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance on all leased and owned vehicles.
- Create and maintain all Transportation Department data bases.
- Work closely with SC State Fleet Management CVRP regarding issues with the leased vehicle.
- Responsible for adhering to the contractual agreement between Babcock Center and SC State Fleet Management.
- Assist the Support Services Director with obtaining federal funds for new vehicles.
- Assist the Human Resources Department with the Babcock Center Drivers Training Program.
- Responsible for adhering to Babcock Center published procedures and policies.
- Responsible for attending meetings as requested by the Support Services Manager or Director.
- Perform other duties associated with the Transportation Department, as assigned.
Typical Physical Demands:
Sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, frequent lifting and manual dexterity sufficient to perform duties associated with the position of Transportation Supervisor. Must have normal range of hearing and vision.
