Qualifications:
5 years of experience in facilities management, MEP systems, or building compliance.
Strong knowledge of NYC regulatory environment (DOB, FDNY, Local Laws).
Experience with HVAC, boilers, electrical systems, and fire protection systems.
Professional certifications (PE, CFM, HVAC certification, or equivalent).
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Required Field Expertise and Industry Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of NYC Building Codes, Mechanical Code, Fire Code, and Local Laws impacting building systems compliance.
- Hands-on expertise with MEP systems including HVAC operations, boiler maintenance, electrical systems, and plumbing infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of FDNY fire protection requirements including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, standpipes, and suppression systems.
- Experience managing maintenance contracts, vendor performance, and regulatory inspection cycles.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning, asset lifecycle management, and capital planning strategies.
- Knowledge of unionized environments, skilled trades operations, and contractor compliance management.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, construction drawings, and engineering reports.
- Experience with digital maintenance systems, work order platforms, and compliance tracking tools.
- Strong risk management approach focused on safety, compliance, and operational continuity.
