What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Consultant / Interim & Backup Compliance Officer (U.S.) position at Equinox Compliance?
Equinox Compliance brings compliance, legal, technology, and risk leadership together under a single engagement for U.S. fintechs, banks, payments companies, digital-asset firms, and lenders — often at high-scrutiny moments. We deploy expertise the way each client needs it: embedded, co-sourced, as an interim or backup Compliance Officer, or delivered from Equinox.
Levels & responsibilities
- Intern / Analyst — assist with research, testing, and documentation while learning the practice.
- Compliance Consultant — support risk assessments, testing, policy development, and remediation under direction.
- Senior Compliance Consultant — own compliance workstreams end to end; serve as day-to-day client contact.
- Compliance Principal — lead engagements and serve as the embedded, interim, or backup Compliance Officer / CCO; advise executives and boards.
- Compliance Practice Director — own the practice, oversee engagements and consultants, and set methodology and standards.
What we look for: internship to 10 years (Principal / Director) in U.S. financial-services compliance; command of BSA/AML, consumer-compliance and UDAAP expectations (CFPB), and prudential regulator guidance (OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, NCUA) and state regulators; certifications welcomed (CRCM, CCEP, CAMS).
- Structure: embedded, co-sourced, interim/backup officer, or Equinox-delivered — from on-demand and interim through permanent, including permanent Equinox roles. Remote-friendly; competitive, level- and engagement-scoped compensation.
