What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Tax Compliance Specialist position at B2E Solutions, Inc?
The Payroll Tax Compliance Specialist serves as our in-house expert on payroll tax regulation and serves as the primary liaison between our Tax Department and the other support teams within the organization. They are responsible for researching and providing guidance on new and existing payroll tax regulation for team members and clients, as well as helping to initiate and complete projects brought on by regulation changes.
The Payroll Tax Compliance Specialist provides excellent tax service support, resolves tax deposit and filing issues using effective problem-solving skills and is responsible for assisting team members and clients with questions relating to payroll taxes, system reports, and other tax and compliance matters.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Maintain subject matter expertise regarding payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Review association publications, attend compliance training and participate in best practices meetings/seminars, as well as applicable conferences
- Monitor federal and state payroll tax activities and keep updated on new regulations
- Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation
- Discuss emerging compliance issues with management or employees
- Assist the Tax Manager in disseminating written policies and procedures related to compliance activities
- Act as the Tax Department liaison to other teams within the organization, providing on-going communication, support, education, and training
- Share in the day-to-day operational processes of the tax department including, but not limited to:
- MasterTax Cash Collection, Deposit Payments, and importing & balancing processed payroll taxes
- Upload daily ACH files to ACH processor
- Complete new client setups within MasterTax
- Resolve client tax notices
- Process client payroll tax amendments
- Assist in quarter and year-end reconciliation and tax filing activities
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- 5 years payroll tax experience, including the completion and filing of federal, state and local returns
- FPC required, CPP preferred
- Proficient in MasterTax
- Strong ability to analyze regulations and complex compensation rules
- Able to self-manage and work independently, as well as working within a team and across departments
- Exceptional time management and organization skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
