Key Responsibilities
Reviews and places orders for goods and services.
Maintains procurement records such as purchase orders of materials/goods purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
Contact vendors to negotiate prices, monitor delivery schedules, and expedite delivery of priority items.
Manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships.
Maintains accurate information on alternative vendors and items purchased.
Keeps abreast of market conditions and price changes.
Works closely with other departments or groups under minimal supervision.
Determines methods of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid.
Ensured compliance with shipping and timelines from supplier partners.
Work with inventory and warehouse teams to help maintain stocked inventory and seamless transition of goods.
Assist the department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products.
Liaise with the Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices.
Manage inventory levels to protect the company from backorders and excess surplus liability.
Qualifications
3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of material management and procurement functions.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to use tact and skill in dealing with other teams, management, and vendors.
Good negotiation skills.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks
Must know dimensional lumber units of measure.
Good organizational and time management skills
