Job Overview
The objective of the Pre-production coordinator is to ensure that everything needed for construction is planned, organized and ready before on site work begins. Prepare the project so that construction can begin on time, stay organized and run with minimal delays or surprises.
Duties:
Estimating –
- Attend bid walks
- Collect project information for estimator
- Initial preparation of bid worksheet
- Upload bid documents (plans, specs, finish schedule, bid walk pictures, quantities, measurements, etc.)
- Collect contact information for client
- Get confirmation of bid due date
- Determine what subcontractor components are required
- Document access challenges
Drawings/Engineering -
- POC for Drawings/Engineering
- Request drawings, plans engineering from vendor
- Upon completion send to account manager & estimator for review
- Upon approval begin permit process
Permits –
- Obtain estimated permit expense for projects when available
- Familiarize yourself with permitting departments for bay area cities we currently operate in
- Create logins/accounts with cities as needed
- Obtain business licenses if required
- Request permits for projects
- Complete project permit forms, submit to cities
- Upload plans/drawings to required permitting websites
- Review statuses of all projects currently in permitting on daily basis
- Report to AM’s GM’s with status updates
- Forward any plan comments to Architect/Engineer within 24-48 hours
- Coordinate permit payments
- Download or pick up permits from city when necessary
- Work with AM/Estimator to ensure permit cost is within budget or change orders are written
Pre-construction
- Prepare pre-construction meeting packets with AM’s
- Schedule/coordinate date, time attendees for pre-con meeting
- Calendar pre-con meetings
- Attend pre-con meetings as required
- Document pre-con meeting agenda, take pictures, upload to dropbox
Other -
- ***Possible order materials for construction projects***
- Walk projects for weekly updates report back to AM
- Safety audits on jobsites
- Review binders, look for JHA’s, safety meetings, PPE, etc.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
