Position Title: Electrician Journeyman

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Electrical Director

JOB SUMMARY

The Electrician Journeyman has performed work for a specific trade. Works under general supervision for the full range of construction trade duties.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduit bending, Cable pulling 
• Installing electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment and other systems
• Installing safety and distribution components such as switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels, etc.
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components
• Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them
• Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
• Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units
• Plan, implement and manage construction tasks following priorities and goals assigned by management
• Additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience (Journeyman level required)
• Carded or Non-Carded Electricians welcome (pay will vary based on certification and experience)
• OSHPD Experience strongly preferred
• Preferred: DIR General Electrician certification( or actively enrolled as an E.T. Electrical Trainee)
• Dependable, professional, and teamwork-oriented
• Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g.wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.)
• Time management skills
• Ability to follow directions and safety protocols
• Ability to travel within the United States for special projects

• Work is performed mainly infield settings. Considerable outdoor work is required to inspect various construction sites or public works facilities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate testing tools, instruments, and multiple pieces of equipment.  
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; walk; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. In addition, the employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
