Job Description Busbar Fabricator
B&P Machine LLC is a small, family-owned machine shop located in West Newfield, Maine. We specialize in the fabrication of flexible laminated copper busbars for the electrical power distribution industry.
We are looking for a dependable, motivated individual who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in producing high-quality parts. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with a strong work ethic and mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Bend, twist, fold, and form flexible laminated copper busbars to precise specifications.
- Set up and operate manual and hydraulic bending and forming equipment.
- Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools.
- Adjust tooling and fixtures to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Perform in-process and final quality inspections.
- Complete production and quality documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work with other team members to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.
Qualifications
- Manufacturing or fabrication experience preferred.
- Experience fabricating flexible laminated copper busbars is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Dependable with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
