Responsibilities
- Provide flexible classroom support across multiple age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs.
- Assist lead teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Support children with individualized care plans, ensuring their unique needs are met with compassion and professionalism.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment by following health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and child CPR when necessary.
- Engage children in meaningful play, learning activities, and routines that foster curiosity and independence.
- Collaborate with team members to manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies.
- Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure children's safety and well-being are always prioritized.
Skills
- Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or classroom settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Strong classroom management skills to create an organized and nurturing environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom dynamics as a floater or substitute teacher.
- Infants and Toddlers and Preschool Certifications preferred
- Training in first aid, or childcare is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and families.
